I've been spending an inordinate amount of
time trying to set up my new computer. It's been going fairly well and
if I ever finish, I think I will be better off, but switching files
over and converting to more updated software is painful. I upgraded my
Microsoft Office, and cannot for the life of me figure out (despite
following the directions from several tutorials) how to import my
contacts list. If any of you know how (and it's different than what
I've read before) I would love to know what to do. Happily, I DID
manage to import my signatures .. including little images of my work.
Some successes.. some failures.
Additionally, because I volunteer with
several art groups, I've spent huge amounts of time doing things for
these groups. I've always felt that it is important to support those
organizations that provide us with a venue or opportunities to share our
passions. Many people just think these groups exist without effort and
don't realize the amount of work those that DO volunteer do for them.
Anyway.. I've been "giving back" for many years to the various groups I
enjoy. But boy, sometimes it seems that volunteering takes too much
time from my art!
Anyway, I've been enjoying painting seascapes lately. This is just one of several small paintings I've played with:

Although it makes it difficult to paint
on days like this, the winds often make the most majestic waves to enjoy
and thrill over!

This is just so beautiful, Marian! Love the water and how you've managed to give it that almost transparent look too. I know of only one group nearby and they meet during business hours so I am not a member.
I have a bit more time than you do, Sherry, but I have found that the art clubs are a good source of ideas, opportunities and like-minded friends.
Hi Marian,
I'm loving your rocky coastal scenes you've been painting lately....but this one is super nice work! I really like the almost side angle of the wave and the great colors you've used....just super work Marian!
Thanks, Ron. Funny... I was just looking this one over and have decided it needs some more work.
Thanks anyway... Don't you LOVE what we do??? Always thinking and trying to get better!
